Special Edition: May 2025

DEEP to Give Community Update on Six Lakes Testing

May 29 webinar will lay out current testing protocol and review earlier findings

We know Six Lakes is contaminated, but where is that contamination, and how bad is it?

Members of the Remediation Team from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will join the Six Lakes Park Coalition for an informational webinar on Thursday, May 29th, from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. in order to update the community on soil and water testing currently underway at Six Lakes. They'll explain the current testing protocol and review what we already know from earlier rounds of testing.

This is a great chance to find out what those trucks are doing onsite, learn about soil and water testing methods, and get a refresher (or a first-time education) on what we've learned from previous testing. DEEP's presentation will include an opportunity to ask questions.

Join us May 29th at 6 p.m. on Zoom

Pre-registration is appreciated: https://www.savethesound.org/six-lakes-webinar

In case you're not free to join us, a recording will be available for future viewing. We'll share that link in our next monthly email.
